Leucistic axolotls can develop more speckling as they mature. A shaded tank and a hide help keep the body colour pale rather than dusky.

Matilda is a lightly speckled leucistic white axolotl and at 11.5 cm one of the largest animals available. Well grown with good body depth, pale cream colouring, dark eyes and a light dusting of speckles over the head. The extra size means the gills are fully developed and the body proportions have settled into their adult shape.

A good option if you would rather skip the fragile early months and start with a robust animal. Currently eating soft sinking salmon pellets and chopped earthworm, and taking both readily. We do not send an animal that is not feeding on its own.
