Ask a question about Amber before you buy. We answer within a business day.

Normal eyesight makes a copper easy to feed, and the colour work happens on its own over the first twelve months.

Amber is a copper axolotl with a paler, almost rose gold cast to the body. Lighter than a typical copper with the speckling reduced to a soft scatter, and gill stalks that are long relative to the head. The overall impression is a softer, more pastel version of the morph, which suits a planted tank with lower lighting.

Gentle and slow moving. Suits a keeper who wants something placid rather than frantic. Eats without hesitation, pellets and chopped earthworm both. An animal that has to be tempted does not go on the site.

Every photograph on this page is of Amber itself, not a representative of the morph. Whether you are in Melbourne or Adelaide, it leaves Monday to Wednesday and travels insulated. Every morph and what it sells for is listed on our axolotl price page.

Questions about Amber

Is Amber still available?

Amber is available as of today. The warm tone strengthens with age, and normal eyesight means feeding needs no technique beyond dropping food in.

How much is Amber?

Amber is $85 AUD, and that price is for this animal alone, a 10 cm copper. Around this size the feeding response is reliable, which is the thing that makes an animal easy to keep.

Can Amber be delivered to Perth?

Yes. Sent to Perth it arrives in two business days, dispatched Monday to Wednesday only. Worth knowing before you order: Perth summers run hot and dry, so water temperature is the thing to plan for.

Questions about Amber before you buy?

Questions about Amber specifically, or about getting a tank ready? Either is fine.
