Ask a question about Honey before you buy. We answer within a business day.
Honey is a honey copper axolotl, the warmest toned of the coppers we have available. Honey coppers lean golden rather than pink, with a soft amber body and gills that sit closer to peach than rose. Under natural daylight the colouring is genuinely lovely, and it is a morph that tends to hold its warmth into adulthood instead of dulling off.
Calm in the hand net and settles quickly after a water change. Eating well and putting on width rather than just length, which is the body condition we want before an animal is packed.
Nothing here is a stock photo. Honey was shot in our own tanks this month. Into Adelaide on an express service, and we watch your forecast before booking the courier. Budgeting the whole thing? Our axolotl price page includes the setup, not just the animal.
Questions about Honey
How big will Honey get?
Honey is 10 cm now and should finish between 18 and 25 cm. At that size the gills are fully developed and the animal has the reserves for a day in transit.
Can Honey live with another axolotl?
Not yet. At 10 cm Honey would come off worse against anything larger, and axolotls nip gills and limbs when mismatched.
Is Honey still available?
Honey is available as of today. Coppers see normally and feed themselves, and the colour deepens over the first year rather than fading.
