Ask a question about Noodle before you buy. We answer within a business day.
Noodle is a GFP axanthic copper axolotl, a combination that produces a very soft, muted colouring. The axanthic gene strips the yellow, so the copper base sits paler and cooler than usual, closer to a dusty taupe. Under blue light the fluorescence still comes through clearly. Between the two traits this is one of the more unusual animals in the group.
Long, loose limbed and thoroughly ungainly in the water, which is exactly where the name came from. Takes pellets straight off the sand and chopped worm from tongs. No coaxing needed, which is what we look for before listing.
Every photograph on this page is of Noodle itself, not a representative of the morph. Melbourne orders arrives overnight; we hold the animal free of charge if your forecast turns. If you are comparing sellers, start with what axolotls cost in Australia.
Questions about Noodle
How much is Noodle?
Noodle is $165 AUD, and that price is for this animal alone, a 10 cm gfp axanthic copper. That is a few months of growing out already done, and the risk that goes with it already carried.
Can Noodle be delivered to Adelaide?
Yes. Sent to Adelaide it arrives overnight to one business day, dispatched Monday to Wednesday only. Worth knowing before you order: Adelaide heatwaves are short and sharp, so frozen bottles and a fan get most keepers through.
Is Noodle a good first axolotl?
Yes, provided the tank is cycled and holding 16 to 18 degrees before it arrives. In daylight this is simply its underlying morph. The green appears when a blue torch goes on, and nowhere else.
