Ask a question about Sushi before you buy. We answer within a business day.

Nothing has been done to this animal. GFP is a heritable trait, and the glow only shows under blue or violet light at roughly 395 to 440 nanometres.

Sushi is a lightly speckled GFP leucistic axolotl with the pink and white colouring most people picture when they think of an axolotl. Pale translucent body, dark eyes, and full red gill fans, with a light scattering of speckles over the head and shoulders. This is the classic pet axolotl look with the GFP gene added, so it glows green under a blue torch without losing the pale daylight appearance.

Confident and pushy at feeding time. Plenty of character for a pale animal. Feeding independently on sinking pellets, with chopped earthworm two or three times a week for condition.

Nothing here is a stock photo. Sushi was shot in our own tanks this month. Brisbane and Sydney are both routine runs for us, dispatched early in the week. Morph by morph pricing, and what drives it, is on the axolotl prices in Australia page.

Questions about Sushi

Can Sushi live with another axolotl?

Not yet. At 10 cm Sushi would come off worse against anything larger, and axolotls nip gills and limbs when mismatched.

Is Sushi still available?

Sushi is available as of today. GFP changes what the animal looks like under one specific light and nothing else about keeping it.

How much is Sushi?

Sushi is $190 AUD, and that price is for this animal alone, a 10 cm lightly speckled gfp leucistic. Ten centimetres is the point where an axolotl stops being fragile and starts being straightforward.
