Ask a question about Digger before you buy. We answer within a business day.
Digger is a wild type axolotl with a warmer, more golden base than the others in the clutch. The olive tone leans brown rather than grey, and the gold speckling is dense enough across the shoulders to read almost as a sheen. Wild type colouring darkens with maturity, so the contrast should sharpen over the coming months.
Fast and food motivated. Never needs encouraging to eat. Eats without hesitation, pellets and chopped earthworm both. An animal that has to be tempted does not go on the site.
Digger was photographed on its own and priced on its own merits, not to a morph rate card. Into Melbourne on an express service, and we watch your forecast before booking the courier. Budgeting the whole thing? Our axolotl price page includes the setup, not just the animal.
Questions about Digger
How big will Digger get?
Digger is 10 cm now and should finish between 18 and 25 cm. Around this size the feeding response is reliable, which is the thing that makes an animal easy to keep.
Can Digger live with another axolotl?
Not yet. At 10 cm Digger would come off worse against anything larger, and axolotls nip gills and limbs when mismatched.
Is Digger still available?
Digger is available as of today. The mottled brown comes with the constitution of the wild animal, so small water swings matter less than they would with a leucistic.
