Ask a question about Bandit before you buy. We answer within a business day.
Bandit is an axanthic black axolotl with a slightly deeper, cooler grey than the others in this clutch. Under tank lighting the body takes on an almost slate blue cast, and the belly stays a paler pewter. Axanthic colouring tends to darken as the animal matures, so expect this one to deepen further over the next six months rather than fade.
A confident feeder. Takes pellets straight off the substrate without needing them waved about first. Currently eating soft sinking salmon pellets and chopped earthworm, and taking both readily. We do not send an animal that is not feeding on its own.
Bandit is one animal, not a stock line. When it sells, the listing goes with it. Sent to Perth it arrives in two business days, in an insulated box with a cool pack. Weighing up morphs? Axolotl prices in Australia sets out what each one costs.
Questions about Bandit
How much is Bandit?
Bandit is $80 AUD, and that price is for this animal alone, a 10 cm axanthic. That is the size we consider ready to travel, grown enough to handle a day in a box.
Can Bandit be delivered to Perth?
Yes. Sent to Perth it arrives in two business days, dispatched Monday to Wednesday only. Worth knowing before you order: Perth summers run hot and dry, so water temperature is the thing to plan for.
Is Bandit a good first axolotl?
Yes, provided the tank is cycled and holding 16 to 18 degrees before it arrives. Dark morphs need a dark substrate and moderate light or the detail in the face and gills disappears.
